Opening eyes to a sight loss charity

The Macular Society helps those affected by macular disease and helps fund research to find a cure. The charity needed a smart and distinctive idea to cut-through in the compassion-fatigued world of charity advertising. We created Mac the macula, to tell the story of macular disease poignantly, endearingly, and as it had never been told before. Collaborating with Bristol-based, Oscar-winning animation studio Aardman, we brought Mac to life in an animated film and TV commercial on a limited budget. Our campaign ran across TV, press, radio, digital and direct mail and increased awareness of the disease by 7%.
