To land a role at a top agency takes determination, talent and luck. Demonstrate your passion for the industry, your creativity and your willingness to go the extra mile. Work on passion projects and show them off. Network, network, network. Standing out is key. Be confident but not cocky. Make it easy and enjoyable for someone to read your CV and browse your portfolio. Take time to do your homework on the company you’re targeting and why you want to work there - tell them something about yourself or your portfolio that is of particular interest to them. Avoid ‘Dear Sir/Madam’ type generic email applications, agencies are inundated with those. They warrant generic rejection letters. Most websites list their agency’s key people, so address your application to the most relevant person. Here’s to wishing you luck!
