Meet our Mental Health Workplace Responders

As part of its ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing, Istoria Group has appointed four new mental health workplace responders, who will be the first point of contact for any of the Istoria Group team in times of crisis.

Lindie Kramers, Hannah Jardine, Saskia Horne and Liza Boutet have now taken part in a Mental Health training course run by St John Ambulance. The course educates participants on the causes, effects and signs of mental health problems. It also guides companies on how to assess risk, reduce causes of stress and support its employees.

The World Health Organisation (2014) defines the term ‘mental health’ as ”a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”.

With one in four people experiencing a mental health problem at some point in their life, Istoria Group aims to provide a working environment where our people can thrive. Our Mental Health Workplace Responders will help to maintain a mentally healthy workplace and also help to influence and develop future company policies.

We are all familiar with the added pressures brought on by the pandemic and are mindful that work isn’t adding unnecessary further stress to our employees. Our aims are to promote positive attitudes towards mental health in the workplace, encourage open discussions around mental health and provide the most appropriate support to anyone having a challenging time.
